Monsignor James Lavin Award

Monsignor James Lavin Award: This award honors an alumnus or alumna of St. Thomas for outstanding contributions and service to the University of St. Thomas Alumni Association, its programs and services. Since 1994, the Alumni Association has honored an individual each year for the extraordinary contributions.

Alfred "Al" Colling '59

He has been involved with St. Thomas since he graduated in 1959. He served on the alumni board for a three-year term in the mid-1980s and also has been active in many alumni functions, including reunions and homecoming events.

Michael D. Heffron '57

Mike Heffron's service to St. Thomas is notable for his membership on the Alumni Association Board of Directors in three different decades.

Donald A. Traxler ’50

Donald Traxler’s decades of service to the Alumni Association have been most notable because of his uncommonly strong dedication to the Old Guard.

Thomas Cronin ’64

Tom Cronin served as an active member and as vice president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. His enthusiasm and friendliness make him a recognized figure at both alumni and student events.

Dr. James McEnaney '52

Dr. McEnaney has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, on numerous alumni committees and in many other alumni service roles. One could count his being a resident assistant on Monsignor Lavin’s floor in Ireland Hall in the early 1950s his first service to St. Thomas!
