Alumni Reflections for Undergraduate Students
The Student Alumni Council partners with various undergraduate student clubs and organizations to host Alumni Reflections Speaker Series throughout the academic year. Through this series, students have the opportunity to connect with St. Thomas alumni and contemplate life after graduation.
While many speaker series for undergraduate students are career-focused, Alumni Reflections strives to articulate the theme of work-life balance and focuses on sharing how alumni have integrated faith, service and reason into both their professional and personal lives. Alumni may have similar or different faith traditions, professional goals or personal values, but their personal stories provoke students to consider their own futures.
For each event, SAC collaborates with a different club or organization. SAC handles the event logistics and meal expenses, and also coordinates a speaker that shares a similar background and/or career interest area as the partnering group. The partnering group is only responsible for helping with event promotions and making sure its members attend.
Benefits of the partnership:
- Offers an easy and valuable opportunity to engage with St. Thomas alumni
- Encourages contemplation and discussion of work-life balance after graduation
- Provides a pre-planned meeting for the partnering group – free meal included!
